How long will it take for my custom cabinets to be ready?

The process of getting new custom cabinets is very enjoyable, with the right company! As with any major purchase it is always a great idea to research a few potential suppliers, check references and of course meet with them face to face to see if you click. It is important to be able to communicate well with each other to ensure ideas are understood by both parties so your dream kitchen or other cabinetry project turns out just the way you want it to.     Once you decide on a cabinet maker, depending on where you are with your ideas on a new or remodeled project, it may take one to four weeks to finalize layouts, accessories, stain colors, lighting and other features. Your cabinet maker should be able to provide you with updated layout versions fairly quickly with your minor changes. Major overhauls do take more time and if too many changes are being done you may incur additional plan production costs.
When the layouts are approved by you, production begins. Crafting your new cabinetry will take three to five weeks. Factors that may lead to longer production time are; variety of wood species, lot's of special wood features, how busy your cabinet maker is, staining or enameling of the cabinetry. Cabinetry is an art, and cabinet makers and the staining/ enameling steps can't be rushed.
Delivery and installation are the next two steps. Depending on the job size, installation may take one day, or up to a week, or more. Finish carpenters are very detailed and want to do a perfect job on the cabinetry. No rushing through just to get finished.
At Cabinetry Concepts, our standard cabinetry project is a four week production, and a two day installation. Of course this does vary on certain jobs, due to the size of the project and our current work load schedule. Communication with our customers is key and will help eliminate any scheduling mix ups. We understand there may be a number of other pieces of the project puzzle going on and will do our best to fit into the timeline of the contractor or other sub-contractors.
Stay involved, keep in touch and enjoy the process. It's a great learning experience and you will love how your new cabinetry looks!
